Submit an Idea!
Welcome to the Spark Tank 2026 Idea Submission!
Team Travis,
Do you have an idea that could transform the way we work? Or know of a new technology that could elevate our mission?
If so, the Spark Tank is looking for you! This is your opportunity to pitch your ideas directly to leadership and secure the funding needed to bring your vision to life.
What is Spark Tank?
Spark Tank is a platform for Airmen at all levels to propose creative solutions for the Quality of Life, mission assurance, and energy resilience challenges we face daily. It's about turning your ideas into reality, with the support of Squadron Innovation Funds.
What's in it for You?
With a compelling pitch, you could receive up to $100,000 to fund your idea (with the potential to access more). This is your chance to make a tangible impact on your Squadron, Wing, or even the Air Force.
How to Participate
Submit Your Idea: Complete the form HERE to submit your innovative idea by 13 March 2026.
Prepare Your Pitch: Be ready to present your idea in a dynamic 3–5-minute pitch to the Phoenix Spark team. Your pitch should cover the following:
The problem statement and proposed solution.
Estimated Cost: How much funding will you need?
Implementation Timeline: How long will it take to execute?
Level of Impact: Will this benefit your section, your Squadron, the Wing, or the Air Force?
This is more than just an idea competition; it's a chance to get other units excited about your vision and to collaborate on innovations that will shape the future of our installation. To get the creative gears turning, here are a few ideas which have been or could be funded through Spark Tank/Squadron Innovation (SIF) Fund efforts.
Travis Airmen:
- created a KC-46 vent cover which for $25 that protects a $900k electronic component, potentially saving the Air Force over $100 million/year
- added RFID trackers to armory assets, expediting weapons checkouts to improve base security posture
- created a virtual in-processing application that will promote accountability and ensure completion of vital unit in-processing actions that is being implemented across the DAF
- acquired electromagnetic spectrum scanners to identify unauthorized radio transmitters and drones on and near base
We look forward to seeing your innovative ideas!
